This year’s CP Week campaign celebrates the possibilities being created by and for people with CP and like disabilities and the achievements and milestones that are now not only being dreamed of but realised in their every day lives.

Achievements such as living independently after 50 years or using public transport for the first time or finishing top of your year with a Law Degree.  Achievements made possible thanks to the support received at The Centre, in the home, workplace, schools and colleges and service groups, by family, friends, work colleagues and the wider community. 

This year’s CP Week Stars are showcasing the aspirations of kids and the achievements of teenagers and adults with CP who are confidently saying: “I want to be....” and  “I am … “

CP Week gives us the opportunity to work as a community to promote greater awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with CP and like disabilities. It is also a time to celebrate the dreams and achievements of people with CP, their families, freinds, carers and co-workers as well as the wider community who together help to celebrate potential and create possibilities.

Schools Program Visit our Schools Program page for more information on how to raise awareness of CP in your school, all year round.    CP Week 2012 Community Service Announcement Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week 2011 1 - 7 August 2011 Creating Possibilities for People with CP   In its 60th year, The Centre for Cerebral Palsy proudly celebrated the potential and the creation of possibilities for people with CP and like disabilities through a wide range of services and activities. One of these special activities was Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week (CP Week) which is celebrated annually, during the first week of August. Last year, 2011 CP Week celebrated the possibilities being created by and for people with CP and like disabilities and the achievements and milestones that are now not only being dreamed but realised. The 2011 celebrations were particularly special as The Centre celebrated a milestone of its own - its 60th anniversary.  A series of events took place throughout WA to mark CP Week.  To view images from the week see the events list below: CP Week 2011 Events Colouring in Competition - The West Australian The winner of this year's CP Week colouring in competition was Bridie.  You can see the winning entry here. Val Flying High with the West Coast Eagles CP Week Star Val launched the week and got to meet two of her West Coast Eagles heroes in the process.  To read more about Val's trip to Patterson's Stadium click here. Goodwill Engineering and Create Employment's Open Day The Centre's CEO Judy Hogben and Goodwill Engineering General Manager Phil Pitchers were on hand to officially open new facilities at The Centre's Malaga site.  See here for images. Boronia Gardens Tea Party A tea party at The Centre's respite facility Boronia residence took place on 2 August.  Despite the onset of the occasional shower all enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea.  See here for images of the afternoon.
