CP Week Small Grants Scheme

To engage the wider community in CP Week activities The Centre, along with CP Week Sponsors, offer a Small Grants Scheme to encourage eligible groups to organise an event or activity during CP Week. The process is simple and gives groups, organisations or individuals’ access to funding to host an event or activity.

Grants of up to $500 are now available for initiatives and events held during CP Week, 30 July - 5 August 2012. Grants will be awarded according to merit and level of community participation and involvement. CP Week Community Excellence Awards

The CP Week Community Excellence Awards gives you the opportunity to nominate a group or organisation who you think should be recognised for ‘going the extra mile’ for people with CP.

Creating Possibilities for People with CP  

In its 60th year, The Centre for Cerebral Palsy proudly celebrated the potential and the creation of possibilities for people with CP and like disabilities through a wide range of services and activities.

One of these special activities was Cerebral Palsy Awareness Week (CP Week) which is celebrated annually, during the first week of August.

Last year, 2011 CP Week celebrated the possibilities being created by and for people with CP and like disabilities and the achievements and milestones that are now not only being dreamed but realised.

The 2011 celebrations were particularly special as The Centre celebrated a milestone of its own - its 60th anniversary.

Colouring in Competition - The West Australian
The winner of this year's CP Week colouring in competition was Bridie.  You can see the winning entry here.

Val Flying High with the West Coast Eagles
CP Week Star Val launched the week and got to meet two of her West Coast Eagles heroes in the process.  To read more about Val's trip to Patterson's Stadium click here.

The Centre for Cerebral Palsy 60th Anniversary Celebrations
A host of faces from the history of The Centre - past and recent - came together to celebrate the organisation's 60th anniversary.  To read more click here.  For images see here.

Goodwill Engineering and Create Employment's Open Day
The Centre's CEO Judy Hogben and Goodwill Engineering General Manager Phil Pitchers were on hand to officially open new facilities at The Centre's Malaga site.  See here for images.

Boronia Gardens Tea Party
A tea party at The Centre's respite facility Boronia residence took place on 2 August.  Despite the onset of the occasional shower all enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea.  See here for images of the afternoon.

Corporate Breakfast
Business leaders came together at Lavan Legal on 3 August.  In attendance was CP Week Star Val.  Click here to see images of the morning.

Beach House - A Family Affair
A day of fun for families at the Beach House, in support of CP Week.  See here for images.

Ploughman's Lunch
Soroptimist International held a special Ploughman's Lunch in the picturesque surroundings of the hills at Lesmurdie.  For more, click here.
