CP Week Star Profile

Name: Jack

Age: 8

Suburb: Karrinyup

Wants to be: A Fireman (or a writer)

Why do you want to be a writer?
I love reading and writing stories and I have a good imagination and think kids would like to read my books.

What do you like to do for fun?
I like to do things with my family and cousins. Playing in our garden with my sister Izabella. Snorkelling with turtles and amazing fish. Rolling and running down sand dunes.

To what extent does CP present a challenge?
My left hand doesn't work as well as my right and I can't move as quickly as everyone else.

How do you overcome these challenges?
I always try anyway and I just don't give up.

What is one thing you would like people to understand about CP?
That people need to see the person not the disability.

What are some of your proudest moments?
I can run down sand dunes and control my stopping. Getting a trophy for courage from the Lions Club. Becoming a Speak Up finalist at my school, being the face of the Children's Hospital in Sydney and going to the Ball.
