Health Services
Health Services aims to support and enable people with cerebral palsy to successfully access community therapy, medical, dental and ancillary services. This involves supporting providers in the community to gain knowledge and skills in providing services to people with disabilities.
Health Services offer specialist clinics covering a range of disciplines such as neurology, orthotics, podiatry, dental and spinal as well as hand and upper limb, and foot and lower limb therapies.
Mealtime Management Services also forms part of our Health Services Program, providing advice and support for the nutritional and dietary intake needs of our service users.
Referrals to Health Services are made by a service user's primary contact within The Centre for Cerebral Palsy.
If applying for dental or podiatry services, only existing clients who fall into category 3 (see below) are eligible.
Category 1: The service user experiences no difficulty in obtaining community services. For example, the service user lives independently in the community, has access to transport and is able to access an alternative service.
Category 2: The service user is able to access a community-based service, can transfer easily from the wheelchair to the dental or podiatry chair if applicable, however may require some assistance.
Category 3: The service user uses a wheelchair, has a high level of physical and/or intellectual impairment and is unable to access community based services. |
