Independent Living Program

The Independent Living Program (ILP) provides specialist therapy services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy and speech pathology, to adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

The programme addresses individual needs in the following areas:

  • Acquisition, development and maintenance of skills;
  • Support for community integration and participation; and
  • Development and maintenance of positive health, wellbeing and independent living skills.
Key aims of ILP are to:
  • Assist service users in efficiently and effectively address their individual goals;
  • Facilitate the inclusion and participation of service users in the community;
  • Enable service users to become responsible for their own health and wellbeing, and for their physical and functional abilities;
  • Provide service users with access to information about community resources and facilities that will assist them to address their needs;
  • And involve service users in the development and evaluation of the service.
