The Wheelie Big Challenge is a fun, year long event where people from all walks of life become Champions for cerebral palsy (CP) and set themselves a Challenge to achieve something extraordinary. This year 28 Champions, their families and friends raised over $80,000 for CP. Our Wheelie Big Day Out is a celebration of these achievements in a fun community environment and the conclusion of this year's Challenge.
This year's Challenge included a 1km or 6km Walk Wheel Run, it was perfect weather as 300 people walked, wheeled and ran around the beautiful Burswood/East Perth Foreshore. It was a vibrant day full of energy, cheer and merriment as families and friends came together after the Walk Wheel Run for our Wheelie Big Day Out.
Jen, mum of 4 year old Champion Emily, summarised what the Wheelie Big Day Out meant to her and her daughter who has CP.
"I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for organising such a wonderful day yesterday. All of us in team Emily had the BEST time. The weather was perfect, lots of shady trees, beautiful location and a fantastic event. Our family (and especially Emily and I) have really enjoyed being part of the Wheelie Big Challenge."
A big thank you to our 28 Champions, people and families who participated, special thanks to our sponsors and community partners, and to our generous staff and volunteers who made our Wheelie Big Day Out special for so many people.
